You can check the video save folder in “Setup Window > Video Tab > Save Folder”.

Also, you can open the folder with Explorer by pressing the folder-shaped button when the video tab of Dr.Capture window is selected.

Dr.Capture can capture screen into a nonstandard resolution video. However, default codec of Windows cannot decode the nonstandard resolution video. So, you have to install followings to solve this problem.

• Microsoft WIC(Windows Imaging Component): this makes it possible to preview the nonstandard resolution video with Explorer. (Free)
• K-lite codec: this codec package contains the codec which can decode nonstandard resolution video. (Free)

Dr.Capture provides its own decoder for playback of recorded videos.

However, in some user environments, after installing Dr.Capture, there may be a conflict between existing codec pack and Dr.Capture decoder, and YouTube videos may not be played.

If YouTube videos are not played after Dr.Capture install, you can fix the problem by changing the decoder to ‘Windows Decoder’ in Dr.Capture setup window.

• Click on the gear button on the top right corner of Dr.Capture screen to open the program setup window.
• Click the “Video settings” tab in the purple area at the top of the screen.
• In ‘Video Decoder’, change the decoder setting to ‘Windows Decoder’ and close the setup window.

This is not a problem for all users, a user who encounts the problem only need to change the settings.

If you change the video decoder to ‘Windows decoder’, you may not be able to play the movie recorded with Dr.Capture so you need to install the integrated codec pack. (See “Previews of videos captured in explorer do not appear” answer.)

Some of video players has low performance, so it can’t play the video properly.

This happens often when you play the video recorded with high fps like 60 fps.

This is the problem of video player.

If you play the video with a high performance video player on a high performance computer, the problem will be solved.

Alternatively, recording with low fps is a good solution.

The performance of video recording highly depends on the performance of graphics card. Also, it is very important that whether the optimal device driver is installed.

If you are using the compatible driver of Microsoft, change the compatible driver to the driver of the graphics card manufacturer.

You can try the followings to improve capture performance.
1) Reduce the capturing numbers per second. (FPS)
2) Reduce the size of capturing area.
3) Reduce the captured frame quality.

If the recording is still not smooth even after trying of the above measures, upgrading of your graphics card is recommended.

Dr.Capture is a ‘Freemium’ program. So you can use all features of Dr.Capture for free forever.

However, if you use it for free, there are few limitations.
1) “www.DrCapture.com” watermark is stamped in recorded video.
2) The longest recordable time per recording is limited to 20 minutes.
